Meet the Studio Operations Staff
Director of Studio Operations
email@example.comScott was born in New York City and raised in Washington D.C. His recording studio career began in 1972 at the early age of 12 when he worked as a runner in a local commercial studio each day after school. After 7 years, he made his way to New York City where he was an assistant engineer at the world renown Mediasound Studios and Right Track Recording. He eventually transitioned to freelance engineering and worked with a myriad of artists - his partial Discography can be viewed here.
Scott has always recognized that anyone entering the recording industry should be prepared with a plan B, C and D for when plan A doesn’t work out. He should know, as his own career has had detours. His other jobs include a year on the road as a front of house live sound engineer with headlining acts. He also spent several years as a Master Control Operator and later as a Senior Traffic Manager at the Discovery Channel. He doesn’t mind the diversions though as they all helped to shape who he is today.
Now, as Director of Studio Operations, Scott is responsible for the management and oversight of the day to day studio operation, staff, maintenance and upkeep of the 14 recording studios/classrooms in Music Production & Engineering. He is a strong advocate for team spirit and process improvement. He takes pride in a well organized and pleasant work environment where everyone is happy to work in and interact with. Otherwise, what’s the point?
But anyone who knows Scott, knows about his passion for cars. He is our resident “car guy” and weekend mechanic. Ask him anything related to the automobile and prepare yourself for a detailed and informative answer. When Scott isn’t working or spending quality time with his wife and two daughters, you will most likely find him working on his car or participating in a motorsports event at a local race track.
Studio Operations Manager
firstname.lastname@example.orgTarik was born in Paris, France. As a child, he also spent time in Montreal, Canada and the Carribean Islands. He started playing guitar when he was 14 years old and it didn’t take long before he became interested in recording and producing music. This interest led him to Berklee College of Music where he majored in Music Production & Engineering.
Shortly after graduating from Berklee in 2001, Tarik worked for some time as a general assistant at Enterprise Studios in Los Angeles. He later accepted an offer to become an Assistant Engineer at the notorious Studio Omega in Paris, France where he was quickly upgraded to Staff Engineer. In 2005, Tarik designed and built a mixing suite within the Marwan Manley Mastering facility in Paris. In his career, he has been fortunate to work with some very talented artists including Phil Collins, Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys, Celine Dion, The Streets and Michel Legrand.
Now as Studio Operations Manager, Tarik is responsible for the coordination of equipment and curricular assets in the MP&E recording facilities and classrooms. He directly supervises the Studio Operations Supervisor staff and 25 Assistants in order to maintain the continuity and flow of the operation. Tarik’s 10 years of professional recording studio experience and as a studio owner has shown to be a tremendous asset for us. The MP&E recording studios are always in tip-top shape each day and the operation runs like a Swiss watch.
In his downtime from work, Tarik enjoys the thrill of high speed Kart Racing where he is very competitive and wins often. He also likes to ski and spectate at Formula 1 racing events. Be careful when approaching Tarik with a discussion about Formula 1 racers and teams though. He is very opinionated on this subject and the discussion could go on for hours!

Studio Operations Supervisor
firstname.lastname@example.orgChris was born and raised in Munich, Germany. While growing up, he was surrounded by music. His dad is a musician and gave private lessons to his students at home each day. In his teens, Chris became interested in audio engineering and decided that Berklee is where he wanted to be.
So Berklee is where he went and it was obvious that Chris would major in Music, Production and Engineering. As a student, Chris entered the workforce as a Studio Operations Assistant. He did very well here and earned his way to the Head Assistant position. Upon graduating from Berklee he was told by his boss, that if he ever wanted to return to Berklee, he would be hired back in a heartbeat in a studio staff position. So off Chris went, out into the world. He landed a job at Interscope Recording Studios in Los Angeles and as a general assistant, Chris spent his days and nights trying to learn the secrets of pop music, kind of.
After working at Interscope, Chris traveled back to Boston, where, yes, he was hired back in a heartbeat as promised and has joined the ranks as one of our faithful Studio Operations Supervisors. In this role, Chris is responsible for maintaining the continuity and flow of MP&E Studio Operations during student project time in the studios. He also provides students with information and guidance on technical issues and professional session protocols. Chris runs a tight ship and everyone follows the rules when he is working. We’re not sure why this happens but it could be because he is soo tall!
When Chris is not working at Berklee, you will find him competing in soccer, basketball or tennis. Again, I would not challenge Chris in any of these sports because he is soo tall!
Studio Operations Supervisor
email@example.comKevin was born in South Carolina and grew up right here in Acton. His interest in guitar and music brought him to Berklee College of Music. He majored in Music Production and Engineering and graduated in 2006.
Shortly after graduation, Kevin spent time professionally at Blue Jay Recording Studios in Carlisle, MA. He also provided services as a home studio consultant helping others with the knowledge he gained from his years at Berklee and beyond.
Currently as a Studio Operations Supervisor, Kevin is responsible for maintaining the continuity and flow of MP&E Studio Operations during student project time in the studios. He also provides students with information and guidance on technical issues and professional session protocols. Kevin is very knowledgeable and helpful. But he is also very organized and neat so it would be best for you to leave your studios neat and normalled just like you found it!
As you can see in Kevin’s profile photo, he loves loud guitars and tube amps. You will often find him out playing with his band at a local club in Boston or Cambridge.
Studio Operations Supervisor
firstname.lastname@example.orgVasily was born in Siberia, which we are told is exactly 12 hours away on the other side of the globe from Boston. He grew up near beautiful Baikal, “The Pearl of Siberia” with horses and bears!
As a young man, Vasily found interest in becoming a rock musician and human rights activist. But it was the musical interest that brought him to Berklee as a drummer where he graduated with the coveted “Creativity Scholar Award”.
Upon graduating, Vasily pursued his love of live sound engineering and toured with many local bands. He still enjoys this work and continues to get called regularly to engineer at many of our local clubs.
As a Studio Operations Supervisor, Vasily is our seasoned veteran. He is responsible for maintaining the continuity and flow of MP&E Studio Operations during student project time in the studios. He also provides students with information and guidance on technical issues and professional session protocols. Vasily is known to be very strict but fair in how he runs the operation. He is also extremely helpful in assisting our student engineers in troubleshooting their way out of some very complex technical problems they find themselves in.
When Vasily is not here working, you might find him swimming in the cold waters of Boston or skiing wherever there is snow. He also loves motorcycles so look out for him!
